Westmount Apartment

373 Claremont Avenue, Westmount (7 1/2 sized upper duplex)

4 closed rooms, livingroom, kitchen, bathroom, teeny room with balcony.

BEDROOM

Counter clockwise around the bedroom from the door.

  • Alder wood trunk containing magical and ritual supplies and inscribed with protection symbols on the inside. This is the most expensive piece of furniture he owns as the wood was imported from Ireland. On top of the trunk, he has dumped his EMT kit bag. Beside the trunk is the kit bag with the new magical medical thing. Above the trunk is a rice paper banner of the 7 Bushido Virtues in Kanji calligraphy.

  • Birch corner cabinet with glass doors above housing 2 shelves with Tae's small but growing teacup collection. The "landing" showcases his current fountain pens, inks and journals in use. The little drawer is devoted to fountain pens, inks, journals, a blotter, a box with wax seals, containers or bags of waxes, a glue gun, and a wax seal melting stand. The two shelves behind the lower wooden doors are filled with canisters of tea (and various other tea supplies and healing supplies).

  • Tall narrow birch bureau where he keeps most of his clothes (in the drawers NEVER on the top). On top is a white salt lamp that cycles thru 8 LED colors, an Asian stile red lacquered box with a black/white Yin/Yang on the top containing the stones he uses for lithomancy, a blue velvet pouch with silk embroidery and containing his tarot deck, a little teapot of white with red momiji leaves, and a momiji bonsai. There is a furoshiki cloth on the bureau with momiji leaves.

  • Birch frame double-bed sized futon/sofa. Above on the wall is a dark blue Celtic knotwork tapestry.

  • Folding birch table with adjustable height, can be a lap desk or a little breakfast table when sitting on the sofa. He often uses it as a desk for schoolwork with his laptop. When not in use, it is folded and tucked in the gap between the futon and the window wall.

  • Window has cream sheet curtains and over-curtains that are a vertical weave of cobalt blue, grey, black, and silver. The two sets of curtains are on black metal rods that look like wrought iron. There is a small hanging plant down the center.

  • Tall ebony bookshelf (imagine the image in naturally black ebony wood) with cultural books, magical texts, tradition material texts. One shelf (central octagon) is dedicated to honoring his ancestors with a little urn of collected ashes, a tealight candle, small incense pot, lighter, box of Japanese sandalwood incense, all on a slate of Sodalite.

  • Tall birch shelf with all his medical books, school (religion) books, some kept psych and anthropology books, reference books for Japanese language and Gaelic language. Decorating the shelf are random stones, crystals, little chunks and different woods, a small bowl of dried rowan berries, little bowl of water, and a little Salt Bowl (bowl of salt and herbs to purify and protect a room).

  • Closet with a folding door. There is a little painting of the goddess Brighid on the door with a Brighid's Cross in reeds beside it. Inside are some random clothes that must not be folded, some nice dress shoes, a one-man survival tent, jug of water, bug-out bag, and a small cube water-proof/fire-proof safe for sensitive paperwork and stuff.

  • Back of the bedroom door has a hook where he hangs his hoodie sweatshirt.

STUDY ROOM

Counter clockwise around the room from the door.

  • The door opens against the closet from the bedroom. Beside it is the closet for this room with a door that is coded with doorknob twist that open the closet door with a portal to the Seiiki (left-right-left twist then open) or to Terra Perma (left-left-left then open).

  • The floor has a layer of interlocking foam mats with tatami mats on top.

  • Tall ebony bookshelf (matching the one in the bedroom) stands in the inset beside the closet. On it are martial arts related texts. (TBA on other things on it)

  • Curtains are the same as the bedroom on the window. Hanging in the center is another little plant in a water container instead of a pot.

  • The long flat wall had another beautiful find. A round Zen shelf.

  • In the corner (left of the door if you are looking into the room) is where he keeps his zafu and zabuton
