Possessions

While this is a very nice clean picture of his car, Tae's car is far from this sharp and new looking. It has spent years going off-roads up north and climbing snowbanks in the city. This is his 2010 secondhand (handed down from Dad) Toyota RAV4. Tae loves it, tho would like something a bit smaller and better on gas. Nothing beats being able to park on a snowbank downtown when you have to. Tae named his car Jakyr. He received it shortly after his Awakening and Blessed it. He annually blesses it so that it continues to run smoothly and keep him save... and not get broken into or stolen.

Within the trunk is his full EMT medical kit bag, added to this is a portable AED that is just becoming standard. He also has a Roadside Assistance kit. In a milk crate in the trunk are extra car supplies. In the central compartment in the front are snacks and some water bottles, and ration bars.

In his backpack, he carries his DELL laptop for school with notebooks, and writing supplies. He also has a couple sturdy fountain pens and some ink. He keeps a small First Aid kit in his backpack with a small survival kit.

He can be reached by his Samsung smartphone.

Tea is so critical in his life that he keeps with him a spill-proof travel thermos with tea, and he keeps a very nice boxed Japanese teacup, with extra tea to brew if he runs out of tea in the thermos. If he ever goes out for tea around campus or for whatever, he prefers to sit with his fancy teacup. Maybe his mother did make a snob of him? He worries about that. But it is one of his favourite set of items, both unique and personal to him and a key tool in his magical practices. At home, he has several other teacups for a variety of occasions, not nearly as extensive a collection as his mother, but he does have a few (7 at the moment, excluding the boxed one he carries with him).

Tae also has a Lithomancy kit. His Lithomancy kit is a small wooden box containing a leather pouch of 25 tumbled gemstones roughly an inch in diameter each, a square foot of indigo velour cloth, and a 4-inch diameter brass ring that barely fits in the box.

A Tarot Deck wrapped in silk and within a cedar box round out Tae's Divination Tools. He occasionally draws a card trying not to put too much faith in them and fears one presenting itself on the Full Moon where he might have to take things quite to heart.

Tae owns a Jo, a 4 foot long wooden staff, gifted to him by his mother. He named her Camelia (because it is made of Camelia Japonica wood and technically called Tsubaki). The Jo is not magical in any way, tho he named and gendered it anyhow. Maybe once he gets better using it, he could enchant it in some way. As a novice, he will be lucky he doesn't break it in practice. He is responsible for its care and has lengthy instructions on how to oil (camelia oil - called Tsubaki Abura) and protect it.

Info on the Tsubaki Jo:

The Tsubaki (Camelia Japonica) is a tree that is found throughout the southern part of Japan and it can reach over 500 years of age. This tree is used since immemorial times in Japanese crafts to make various objects of everyday life such as dishes and furnitures. Its uniform color makes it an ideal wood for making decorative Bokken, though they are also ideal for practice. In recent years, the camellia has been used to replace the legendary Biwa wooden Bokken. Indeed, the Biwa is extremely rare and expensive (regular price for a Bokken in real Biwa is approximately 100,000 JPY, the Bokken sold at cheap rate under the "Biwa" label are in reality made of Tsubaki). Camellia is very close to the Biwa, both by its appearance and by its characteristics, both impact resistant, lightweight, and very pleasant to the touch. Unlike Sunuke, Tsubaki is more flexible, resilient, and therefore stronger. However, it is lighter, making it an excellent practice Bokken for flexibility and precision, especially for women. Certainly less strong than white oak, we do not recommend it for full contact practice, but it will sustain shocks relatively well. (https://www.seidoshop.com/pages/choosing-bokken-jo-woods)
